The Access Partners team includes senior sales executives with specific success records in consultant coverage and platform/intermediaries, as well as support specialists in the creation and maintenance of RFPs, databases, and consultant/intermediary user-friendly materials.
Collectively, the Access Partners team has raised over $10 billion in assets across 25+ products.
Mr. Wendel is a Managing Director of Access Distribution Partners, with an emphasis on sub-advisory and platforms/intermediaries, as well as expertise in variable annuity and DC markets. From 2006-2009, Mr. Wendel served as Vice President of JPMorgan Asset Management where he was responsible for business development and relationship management of insurance companies serving the variable annuity and defined contribution market. Mr. Wendel generated over $2 billion in sales in 2007 and 2008 and was responsible for selling and orchestrating the largest 130/30 mandate in the VA industry.
From 1994-2006, Mr. Wendel served various sales management positions at AIM Investments. From 2003-2006 he served as Senior Vice President and National Sales Manager where he led the business development, sales, and relationship management teams covering insurance companies, banks, broker/dealers, and investment consultants. His unit generated over $7.5 billion in sales during his tenure. From 1999-2003, Mr. Wendel generated $3.2 billion in sales as National Sales Manager and grew his division to include business with 48 of the top 50 and 88 out of the top 100 providers of DC plans. Prior to that Mr. Wendel held roles as East Region Sales Manager and Vice-President of Mid-Atlantic States Institutional Sales.
Prior to his career at AIM, Mr. Wendel was an Investment Representative at Cigna Financial Advisors and also held roles at United Jersey Bank and Marine Midland Bank.
Mr. Wendel received a B.S. from Fordham University. He is a registered representative and is Series 6, 7, and 63 qualified.
Mr. O’Grady is a Managing Director of Access Distribution Partners, with an emphasis on platforms/intermediaries. Prior to joining Access Distribution Partners, Mr. O’Grady was Director of Marketing with BHR Fund Advisors, an institutional mutual fund company, over the last 18 months Mr. O’Grady has successfully arranged over 150 meetings for the firm’s mutual fund lineup.
Previously, Mr. O’Grady held the Director of Marketing role with Guidance Capital, a $900mm fund of hedge funds, marketing absolute return, hedged equity, managed futures, and other niche strategies across consultants, RIA’s, multi-family offices, bank trusts, and broker-dealers. Prior to Guidance, Mr. O’Grady was a Portfolio Manager with Circle T Partners, where he led the hedge fund’s entrance into technology commodity related securities investments.
From 2002-2005, Mr. O’Grady was a trader and portfolio analyst with Coda Capital Management where he assisted in portfolio evaluation as well as the firm’s wholesale marketing effort. From 1999-2002, Mr. O’Grady was the Vice President of Equity Sales for Bank of America Securities where he provided institutional research coverage to mid-level consultants in the Midwest.
From 1993-1999, Mr. O’Grady was the Vice President of Fixed Income Sales with Credit Suisse First Boston, providing taxable fixed income sales coverage in the Midwest for all credit products.
Mr. O’Grady began his career at Goldman Sachs. He holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, and is a registered representative and is Series 3,7,63, and 65 qualified.
Mr. Gray is a Regional Director at Access Distribution Partners covering the Central Region. Mr. Gray has over 30 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry. Throughout his career he has been committed to strategies of improving Advisors’ clients’ portfolios and long-term growth of assets as a Wholesaler and Regional Sales Manager. Alan focuses on RIA’s, wirehouses, regional and independent broker dealers. He has generated over $20 billion in new assets under management.
He has held senior level positions with top tier investment management organizations and financial distribution companies including Piedmont Capital Distributors, Lincoln Financial, AIM Investments, Alliance Capital and Shearson American Express.
Mr. Gray received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from Southern Illinois University. He is a Registered Certified Public Accountant and holds Series 7, 24, 63, 66 and insurance licenses.
Mr. McMahon is a Vice President at Access Distribution Partners focusing on the broker/dealer and RIA channels. He also provides client services and analytical support.
Mr. McMahon joins Access Partners from the Equity Capital Markets Group at Credit Suisse where he was the primary analyst to the retail, healthcare and business services sectors in the origination and execution of IPOs, follow-ons and equity-linked securities. His main responsibilities included creating pitch books, establishing valuations, targeting institutional accounts to purchase the offerings and appropriately positioning the company in the marketplace. Lead capital markets analyst on the execution of the IPOs for RiskMetrics and Grand Canyon Education, as well as a follow-on for IPC The Hospitalist Co.
Prior to Credit Suisse, Drew worked in the Global Private Client Group at Citigroup Smith Barney. He performed analysis and due diligence on offshore mutual funds utilized by financial advisors for foreign nationals. His other main responsibility was to educate clients on investment products and opportunities.
Drew has a B.A. in Economics from Georgetown University and an M.S. from the London School of Economics.

Joined Access from Prudential Investments and The Hartford Mutual Funds, where he worked as an internal wholesaler, and was responsible for day to day communications with financial advisors.
